When conventional wastewater treatment reaches its limits or the disposal of process fluids is uneconomical, membrane distillation technology is our recommended solution. If the water source is remote from common infrastructure, our solar powered filtration systems are the right choice.

Founded in 2009 as a spin-off of the Fraunhofer ISE, SolarSpring GmbH - membrane solutions, has evolved into an international pioneer in the field of membrane distillation. The heart of the company, 6 engineers, are entirely committed to innovative waste- and drinking water treatment technology. SolarSpring system are manufactured in-house at the “Solarhaus” in Freiburg, Germany. Locally and internationally we profit from a unique support network consisting of experts in various fields.

We believe in the mindful use of all resources, not just water, which is why we work together with local and regional suppliers as much as possible. Our company is organized in a purposeful and goal orientated manner.

We have been awarded with various prizes for our innovate developments. In 2012 for example we received the “Land der Ideen” prize the “Technologie-Transferpreis” in 2014.
